Children's Trust Heart Gallery - Leeza
MIAMI (CBS4) ―
As part of CBS4's series on some very special children hoping to be adopted - Shannon Hori would like you to meet Leeza from the Children's Trust Miami Heart Gallery. 14-year old Leeza, who says she's been available for adoption for as long as she can remember, had never met a lemur before. But that all changed thanks to Jungle Island and their new interactive exhibit which features, among other animals lemurs.
At first Leeza was a little timid, but soon she and lemurs warmed up to eachother the grapes she gave them didn't hurt.
"They make the cutest little noises, don't they" Leeza told CBS4's Shannon Hori. "They're cut, cuddly, sweet and they rarely even fight."
Leeza, who really wants to be adopted, feels that description pretty much applies to her as well.
"As long as you take care of me the way you're supposed to, I'll be very sweet and kind," said Leeza, "no problems out of me."
"What kind of family would you like," ask Hori.
"It doesn't matter," said Leeza, "as long as they're nice and caring, it's alright with me."
Leeza told Hori she like to do things most 14-year old girls like to do go to the movies and talk on the phone.
After their day at Jungle Island, Leeza didn't want to say goodbye to the lemurs, so the staff gave her a stuffed lemur toy to remember them by.
It was something cute, cuddly and sweet just like Leeza.
