7 Hurricanes - 3 Major

FORT COLLINS, Colo (CBS4) ― Hurricane season has only been over for less than a week but experts in the field have already released their early forecast for next year.

Forecaster William Gray's preliminary look at 2008 calls for an above-average hurricane season, with seven Atlantic hurricanes, three of them major.

Gray's team at Colorado State University in Fort Collins issued the prediction Friday, six months before the June to November hurricane season begins.
