Weakened Omar Makes Way Out To Sea

MIAMI (CBS4) ― Newly-weakened Tropical Storm Omar is quickly heading out and over the central Atlantic Ocean, after leaving heavy rainfall over the Northern and Central Lesser Antilles.

At 11 p.m. Omar was located near latitude 23.8 north, longitude 58.1 west, or about 715 miles southeast of Bermuda.

Omar is moving to the northeast near 25 mph. The storm is expected to slow down as it continues to move north-northeast over the next few days.

The storms maximum sustained winds are down around 70 miles per hour, with higher gusts. The storm is expected to weaken as it slows. Tropical Storm-force winds extend outward up to 145 miles from the center.
