MIAMI (CBS4) ― The National Hurricane Center continues to keep a close watch on two areas of disturbed weather in the Atlantic.

The one closest to South Florida is actually associated with the remnants of Hurricane Fred. It's a small area of low pressure located about 375 east-northeast of the Northwestern Bahamas; moving slowly towards South Florida. There is a low chance, less than 30-percent chance of this system becoming a tropical depression but it will likely bring rain to the area this week.

The NHC is also watching a broad area of low pressure located about 1,050 miles east of the Windward Islands which remains poorly organized. According to NHC forecasters, this system still has some chance for development but upper level winds are expected to keep the disturbance at bay. The system is moving west-northwestward near 10 mph over the next couple of days. There is a medium chance, 30-to-50-percent chance, of this system becoming a tropical depression in the next 48-hours.
