During their meeting results of a new survey will be released which show a large number of people who could be great impacted by a major hurricane are not prepared for this season.

Emergency preparedness experts urge all residents who live along Florida's coastlines to stock ample supplies in a hurricane kit.

First, and most importantly, all residents should have a supply of fresh water; at least one gallon per day per person. Residents should also have a four day supply of non-perishable food, a first aid kit, clothing, clothing and special items like baby or pet food and an extra supply of any medications that are taken on a daily basis. Also important documents like insurance policies, deeds and financial information should be secured in water tight bags.
