MIAMI (CBS4) ― Tropical Storm Danny has been downgraded to a tropical depression as it is being rapidly absorbed by an extratropical low pressure system. What's left of Danny is passing by the outer banks of North Carolina on Saturday morning and should pass by the Boston area on Sunday.

At 5:00 a.m., the center of Tropical Depression Danny is about 80 miles south of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina or about 540 miles south-southwest of Nantucket, Massachusetts at latitude 34.3 north, longitude 74.6 west.

The remnants of Danny along with the extratropical low should begin to move to the north-northeast over the next several hours before accelerating to the northeast by Sunday. The system will be moving at around 35 miles per hour.

Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph with some higher gusts. The National Hurricane Center said the 5 a.m. advisory would be the final advisory for Tropical Depression Danny.
