MIAMI (CBS4) ― The final advisory on Tropical Storm Erika has been issued after it weakened into a tropical wave just south of San Juan, Puerto Rico.

CBS4 Chief Meteorologist David Bernard reported that while it is possible that Erika might regenerate, it seems very unlikely at least for now. Upper level winds are very unfavorable for the foreseeable future. At this point the remnants of Erika are not expected to affect South Florida. Even if that happens, it would not be until early next week.

Earlier on Thursday afternoon, a poorly organized Erika lost much of her punch as a tropical storm and was downgraded to a tropical depression.

All Tropical Storm Warnings and Watches have been dropped.

At 11 p.m. the center of the system was located about 115 miles southeast of San Juan, Puerto Rico; latitude 16.8 north, longitude 65.6 west.

The wave was moving to the west near 7 mph; maximum sustained winds were 30 mph.
