Tropical Storm Marco Makes Landfall

Tropical Storm Marco made landfall Tuesday morning 80 miles north-northwest of Veracruz, Mexico.

Tropical Storm Marco has made landfall along the Mexican coastline.
At 11 a.m., the center of the storm was located just inland of the coast of central Mexico and about 80 miles north-northwest of Veracruz; latitude 19.9 north, longitude 96.6 west.
Marco continues to move towards the west at around 8 mph. Maximum sustained winds are around 65 mph, with some higher gusts. Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 15 miles. The storm is expected to weaken in the next 24 hours.
At 11 a.m. a Hurricane Watch was discontinued for central Mexico. A Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect from Cabo Rojo south to Veracruz.
Southern and central Mexico, including north Veracruz, northern Puebla, Hildalgo and San Luis Potosi could receive 2 to 4 inches of rain with some areas receiving up to 6 inches of rain.
