CBS
Tropical Depression 16 has become ill-defined inland over northeast Honduras Wednesday, and will remain there for the next couple of days. The system is expected to continue gradually weakening and could become a remnant low within the next couple of days.
At 11:00 p.m., the center of the depression was located at latitude 15.3 north, longitude 85.9 west, or about 40 miles south of Limon, Honduras and about 185 east-southeast of Monkey River Town, Belize.
Maximum sustained winds are near 30 mph, with some higher gusts. The system is moving toward the west-southwest near 7 miles per hour.
The depression is expected to produce total rainfall amounts of 4 to 8 inches over northeastern Nicaragua, northern Honduras, Belize, Guatemala, and the Yucatan Peninsula with maximum amounts up to 15 inches. These rains could produce life-threatening flash floods and mud slides.
