Nana Downgraded To Tropical Depression

MIAMI (CBS4) ― After forming Sunday evening in the far eastern Atlantic Ocean, Tropical Storm Nana didn't hold together very long. Less than 24 hours after forming, the 14th named storm of the year weakened into a Tropical Depression.

At 5 p.m., the center of Nana was about 1105 miles west of the Cape Verde Islands; latitude 17.5 north, longitude 40.6 west.

Nana was moving toward the west-northwest near 9 miles per hour. This motion is expected to continue over the next couple days. The storm has maximum winds of near 35 miles per hour. Nana is expected to weaken throughout Monday and could become a remnant low by Tuesday.
