Miami Launches Stimulus Bill Tracking Website

MIAMI (CBS4) ― South Floridians will now be able to learn how stimulus funds are being spent in Miami thanks to a new website.

The City of Miami launched the new site on Thursday to inform residents on where the money is going and how to tap into non-profit funds.

Anyone can log onto and receive information about projects that include $4 million transit funds used to purchase tires for trolley buses that service Downtown, Brickell, Allaptattah, Overtown and Coral Way.

The stimulus bill – more formally known as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) – was passed to create jobs and give the economy a boost.

In a statement, Miami Mayor Manny Diaz said he expects residents will find it useful.

"This new website is another tool Miami residents can use to stay informed about how the City is putting the recovery funds to work," said Miami Mayor Manny Diaz. "As we begin projects that will revitalize our economy, we will strive to make this process as transparent as possible for the residents of Miami."
