The Gravity Workout May Be The Most Effective Yet

NORTH MIAMI BEACH (CBS4) ― From biceps to triceps, abs to thighs, and oh so much more, the Gravity System works out the body from the nose to the toes. Lisa Petrillo went to a North Miami Beach gym featuring this kind of workout.

At Body Preference in North Miami Beach, owner Chauncey Williams has purchased four muscle toning machines that provide a gravity workout— one of a very few gyms in South Florida to  feature this California-based workout program.

"You're burning so many calories," Williams told CBS4's Lisa Petrillo, "working all body parts—it's a full body workout. The client feels like it's the best work out of their life."

Dana Nevel-Kurzner, a long-time personal trainer, is South Florida's "gravity guru".

"What's unique about gravity is it's a revolutionary system that approaches fitness that uses your body weight against gravity as resistance, so rather than lugging heavy weights we can do over 500 excercises on the gravity," said Nevel-Kurzner.

The Gravity Machine is all about the glide board. It's adjustable, and when raised it increases the percentage of your own body weight that you're pulling or pushing.

It's a bit awkward at first, but before you know it, you're deep into an intense resistance training workout while burning fat and strengthening the core.

With only four machines at a time, the Gravity class feels like you have your own personal trainer, making Gravity a push toward being cost effective.

"The classes are $40 per class, a personal trainer is $75-85 a class, so this is cost effective," says Williams.

Squats, lunges, pulling and pushing--working on balance and technique—it's a full hour of training at all fitness levels.

"After 10 classes", says Nevel- Kurzner, "I haven't had one that hadn't seen major improvements."
