8 Oz. Burger Partner Charged With Unborn Death

LOS ANGELES (CBS4) ― A partner in Miami Beach's 8 Oz. Burger Bar restaurant and other restaurant businesses in Los Angeles is accused in connection with the death of an unborn baby.

The Los Angeles Police Department arrested 37-year-old Joshua Woodward after they investigated the "suspicious circumstances of a miscarriage" according to a press release put out by them. Officials believe Woodward was the biological father of his girlfriend's unborn baby.

Early Monday morning police arrested him in the Willshire Area, charging him with murder. They are testing a powder he allegedly placed in her vaginal area that may have caused her to miscarry.

He is in jail and has bond set at $2 million. Detectives say they established probable cause to arrest Woodward in connection with the miscarriage.

CBS4 News caught up with a partner at the 8 Oz. Burger Bar on Miami Beach's Alton Road, but he had no comment on the matter.
