A Miami Woman Jailed Accused Of Staging Abduction

A woman has been accused of staging her own kidnapping along with her child's in order to extort money from her former husband, according to law enforcement officials.

A Miami woman was sent to a federal detention facility after being accused of making up a story of how she and her child had been kidnapped and then sought a ransom from her former husband, according to the FBI.
Investigators said it believed Alejandra Arriaza planned her own kidnapping and that of her 17-year-old son on April 9th.
According to law enforcement agencies, two Miami men, Angel Ponce and Joel Boza, also helped with the plan. All three could face kidnapping charges.
A hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
