The family of a Miami man found murdered in his apartment two weeks ago is asking for the public's help in finding the last man who may have seen him alive.
According to Miami Police, a housekeeper found the body of Alexio Bello in his ransacked apartment on Northwest 7th Street on January 3rd, 2007. At the time of the murder, friends of Bello told police he had recently befriended 20-year old Jorge Espinoza Navarrete a few days ago. He is a Mexican National who had just moved to the area from North Carolina.
"He didn't deserve to die like that," said Perla Borelli as she cried hysterically. "I loved him like a father."
Borelli says her uncle was a kind loving man, and asked anybody who had information about the crime to call police. He had come from Cuba in the 1970's.
During their investigation, police determined Bello had been stabbed to death and found a pair of bloody shoes belonging to Navarrete near Bello's body.
Navarrete is described as being a white Latin male with shoulder length with wavy hair. Normally clean shaven, he was known to wear his hair in a pony tail.
Anyone with information on Navarrete's whereabouts is asked to call the Miami Police Department at (305)579 6640 or Miami Dade Crimestoppers at (305) 471-TIPS (8477).
