"Bird Road Rudy" Pleads Guilty To Gun Charges

MIAMI (CBS4) ― A reputed South Florida gang leader who was caught on an Internet video taunting police with guns has pleaded guilty to federal weapons charges.

Rudy Villanueva, known as "Bird Road Rudy" admitted Friday he was a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. The 31-year-old Villanueva faces a maximum of 10 years in prison when he's sentenced May 14.

Villanueva and another man, 22-year old Anthony Logan, were arrested in January after a video was posted on the popular site YouTube. On the video, Logan and Villanueva are brandishing an AK-47 assault rifle and other weapons. They also made threats against the Miami-Dade police department's gang unit and challenged the police to come and arrest them. Police did just that.

Logan also pleaded guilty to weapons charges in early February. He'll be sentenced on April 30th.
