Tamarac Fireworks Rescheduled For 6p.m. Saturday

Pembroke Pines Rescheduled For 9p.m. Saturday
MIAMI (CBS4) ― Severe thunderstorms have been rocking Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, postponing fireworks shows, and creating power outages in some parts of South Florida.

In Broward, Pembroke Pines and Margate have rescheduled their fireworks shows until Saturday because of the severe weather. In other places fireworks shows were simply delayed until the weather cleared up.

And electric wires came down on 595 in the area of University Drive in Davie because of the storms as well, causing traffic to be shut down for almost an hour Friday night. Both eastbound and westbound lanes of traffic were shut down at the University Drive Exit. Parts of State Road 84 were affected as well.

According to FPL, 1,999 households were without power in Miami-Dade and in Broward 1,656 households, but late Friday night FPL had restored power to a majority of these homes.
