A couple of armed robbers in Broward have become the stars of a new video at Blockbuster after they held up a store employee and the crime was caught on surveillance video.
According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, the two armed robbers ambushed an employee at Blockbuster Video as he was leaving the store for the night. It happened around 11:30 p.m. on May 31st at the store located at 12 North Federal Highway in Pompano Beach.
The thieves forced the employee back into the video store where they stole money from a safe and cash register. While they tried to hide their faces behind hooded sweatshirts and surgical masks, detectives hope someone might recognize the unique sweatshirt of one of the men. The grey sweatshirt had the letter "P" on the chest and stripes on the sleeves. He also carried a brown handgun with brown spots. His accomplice wore a dark blue sweatshirt.
The surveillance video shows one robber holding a gun on the employee as he tries to open a safe. The second robber crawled into view on his hands and knees.
