Jaws Of Life Used To Save Life Of Pinned Driver

MIAMI (CBS4) ― A man, driving in Wynwood, was rushed to the hospital Friday morning after his car slammed into a concrete pole and he became trapped.

Miami Fire Rescue crews had to use the jaws of life to remove the top of the Silver Nissan Altima, in order to get the driver out of the car. The driver's side of the car was completely smashed in and pinned the man until help could arrive.

The accident took place near NW 23rd Street and 2nd Avenue. The man drove right into a cement power pole, which fortunately, did not topple over on the vehicle.

The man was pulled out of the vehicle about 8:15, a half hour after the accident, and was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital. His condition is not known.
