Cheap Eats With Five Guys & Pizza Fusion
NORTH MIAMI (CBS4) ―
The guys are back in town and it's standing room only. At Five Guys in Midtown Miami, there's a simple menu that's extremely well priced and the food; burgers and fries, are to die for.
"We do burgers, fries, hot dogs and drinks. That's it," explained manager William Cardenas to
CBS4's Lisa Petrillo. "We want to be the best we can be, we want to be the best in burgers."
The 100-percent all beef patties are cooked on a grill and it's all fresh; not a freezer on the premises.
The French fries have become as famous as the burgers. Bags of fresh Idaho potatoes are everywhere. Back in the kitchen, they're sliced and soaked in cool water but don't worry, the menu is trans fat free.
Five Guys Burgers and Fries opened in 1986 by five guys. Now, there are more than 300 locations all over the U.S. where customers can customize their burgers in over 250 thousand ways.
If you're not in the mood for a juicy burger and fries, what about some pizza? Not just any pizza, organic pizza from
Pizza Fusion in North Miami Beach located at 14815 Biscayne Boulevard. It's the first ever organic pizza franchise and a pioneer of environmentally friendly restaurant service.
"It's the best nature has to offer. It's organic, free of hormones, and pesticides," said owner Cesar Conde. "All ingredients are natural."
Everything in the restaurant is green. The tabletops are reclaimed wood, the floors are made from treated compost, and Smart Cars deliver the pizzas. There's even a specially designed oven to keep the gluten-free bread separate from the other dough.
Pizza Fusion has a huge variety of organic pizza as well as fresh salads and sandwiches, all at cheap eats prices.
"We brought in a different philosophy, we want to bring in healthy all natural food to people that don't have the money to spend," said Conde.
There are other Pizza Fusion locations in Fort Lauderdale and Deerfield Beach.
