Judge Denies Bond For Accused Sex Predator

Whiteside Is Wanted Globally On Sexual Predator-Type Crimes

MIAMI BEACH (CBS4) ― A 53-year-old Canadian man accused of traveling to Miami Beach to have sex with what he thought was a 10-year-old girl will remain behind bars.
Saturday, bond was denied for Chris Whiteside.

The investigation of Whiteside began last February when he reportedly began to transmit child pornography to someone he met in an internet chat room. Whiteside thought he was 'chatting' with a 10-year old girl and her mother. In reality it was an undercover police officer. During the course of the conversations, investigators say Whiteside propositioned the "mother" and "daughter" for sex.

Detectives said that charges against him range from transmission of pornography by electronic device; computer pornography; traveling to meet a minor; and sexual performance by a child.
