Improvements Tri-Rail's tracks may delay passengers over the next month and a half.

If you are one of the thousands of South Floridians who rely on Tri-Rail for your daily commute, you can expect delays up to 15 minutes over the course of the next six weeks.
Starting Tuesday, maintenence crews will be working on approximately 62 miles of Tri-Rail tracks in order to maintain overall safety and reliablity. Most of the repairs will be made overnight when Tri-Rail does not operate.
As crews work dilligently, covering 2 miles of track each night, the ongoing project will leave behind construction zones. Speed restrictions will apply and trains will have to slow down while traveling through these zones. As a result, passengers may reach their destinations up to 15 minutes later than usual.
"The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority is taking all measures possible to mitigate delays for our passengers." Bonnie Arnold - Director of Marketing South Florida Regional Transportation Authority
In order to minimize passenger impact, CSX Transportation has joined forces with the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority. CSX is providing special track equipment expected to reduce the length of speed restrictions on the tracks.
Tri-Rail passengers can call 1-800-TRI-RAIL before leaving their home or office to find out what type of delays to expect.
