Sister Saves 2 Year-Old Brother From Drowning

7 Year-Old Saw Brother Floating In The Pool

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (CBS4) ― A near tragedy was avoided in a Coral Springs backyard Wednesday afternoon, when 2 year-old Timothy Cathcart fell into the pool.

It was a close call for the 2-year-old, but lucky for him his 7 year-old sister Julia found him.

"I saw something floating and I went near and I saw Timothy laying face down in the pool," said Julia Cathcart.

When Julia realized it was her brother in the pool, she screamed for her mother who came running and jumped in the pool to pull her child out.

She immediately began CPR and moments later a Coral Springs cop arrived and continued resuscitating the child, eventually getting a pulse and bringing the boy back. The boy spent as much as 5 minutes underwater.The child's grandmother and whole family are relieved this didn't end tragically, but he was taken to Coral Springs Medical Center for treatment.
