Migrants Found On Soldier Key

SOLDIER KEY (CBS4) ― Nearly three dozens rafters, believed to be from Cuba, arrived overnight on Soldier Key south of Key Biscayne.

Miami Dade Fire Rescue said the group was comprised of 18 men, 10 women and 5 children. One man who had minor injuries and may have been suffering from dehydration was taken to the hospital to be checked out. The remaining migrants were taken to Bill Baggs State Park in Key Biscayne where they were turned over to U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents.

The Coast Guard was not involved in the incident.

Under the government's wet foot-dry foot policy, Cuban migrants who reach land are generally allowed to stay in the U.S.
