DMX Denied Bond In Miami, Calls Judge Nasty Name

MIAMI (CBS4) ― Rap star DMX didn't make any friends in a Miami courtroom Tuesday morning when he quietly lashed out at the judge who denied him bond.

DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, called the judge an expletive when Judge Lawrence Schwartz ruled against bond.

"Oh that just ingratiated you to me. I've never heard the "f' word before so it's okay," was the response from Judge Schwartz.

DMX, 37, was arrested and jailed in Miami on August 14th on a warrant for failing to appear in an Arizona court on drug charges. He was taken into custody outside a Wal-Mart store in North Miami Beach.

He faces four counts of possessing drug paraphernalia and one count of possession of marijuana.

Lawyer Charles Kozelka said at the time of the arrest that Simmons didn't appear in court in Phoenix because he had checked into a Miami hospital and had been planning on entering a rehab facility afterward.

DMX has had legal trouble in the past. He was arrested in July in Phoenix on suspicion of using a false identity to defraud a hospital. Over the last three months he has been arrested at least four other times, including for alleged animal cruelty, driving without a valid license, drug possession and failing to appear in court.
