SOFLA Woman Trying To Sue Hubby For Lotto Winnings

MIAMI (CBS4) ― A Miami woman would like to talk to her husband about his big Lotto win but there's a problem, he's gone and so is the cash.

Now Donna Campbell is suing to get half.

She says she suspected something was wrong when her husband, Arnim Ramdass, who worked as a mechanic for American Airlines, disconnected their phone and kept their television off. She says she grew even more suspicious when a postcard offering congratulations on a new house purchase arrived in the mail.

So Campbell did an Internet search on "Ramdass" and "lotto" and saw a news release from the Florida Lottery about a pool of 17 airline mechanics who won the 19 million-dollar jackpot in June. The group opted for the lump-sum payment -- so each got about $600,000 before taxes.

"I never thought that he would cover up marital assets like that, or hide a lottery winning," said Campbell. "That's something that I thought he would share with me."

Campbell's attorney says Ramdass disappeared after his wife confronted him about the secret, so process servers haven't been able to hand him the lawsuit papers yet.

CBS4 News crews tried locating him as well on Monday with no luck.
