MIAMI (CBS4) ― When football star Donte Stallworth's black Bentley slammed into Mario Reyes at 7:15 the morning of March 14th, many lives changed forever.

Stallworth admitted to driving drunk and hitting Reyes as he ran across the MacArthur Causeway, and he's serving a sentence for it.

Now, through new pictures used in Stallworth's court proceedings the public is seeing what police saw that night, and hearing Stallworth's call to 911 just moments after the accident.

STALLWORTH: "Ok, listen, listen..This guy just ran in front of my car and he's (expletive) laying in the street dude..I…"

DISPATCHER: "So you hit somebody in the street?"

STALLWORTH: "Yeah, you gotta send an ambulance right now man."

Police reports show Stallworth had bloodshot, watery eyes, and smelled like alcohol. Police say he admitted drinking tequila earlier in the night. He also apparently agreed to have his blood taken to be tested for DUI, but later refused. Police took it anyway because of Reyes's death.

The accident was a tragic and gruesome sight, it seems you can hear in Stallworth's voice while he talked with the dispatcher.

STALLWORTH: "Oh no. (Expletive). Oh my God, the guy is..oh…"

Police pictures show Stallworth's smashed up Bentley and the devastating debris scattered across the causeway after Reyes's death.

In the 911 call, Stallworth can be heard cooperating with officials for the most part and he spoke fervently in court after pleading guilty to DUI Manslaughter.

He said, "I assure you that this tragedy will continue to bear this burden for the rest of my life."

Stallworth is currently serving his 30-day jail sentence. When he is released he will be on probation for 10 years, and he has lost his driving privileges for life.

His future with the NFL is uncertain.
