Space Heater's Faulty Wiring Blamed For House Fire

POMPANO BEACH (CBS4) ― No one was injured from the faulty wiring on a space heater that started a fire inside a Pompano Beach home Wednesday morning.

The fire broke out shortly after midnight at 2338 NW 4th Street. Officials say the space heater's cord had been cut and taped back together with electrical tape.

An unidentified man, unknown if he was a resident or neighbor, apparently tried to put the fire out with a garden hose before fire fighters arrived but was unsuccessful. No one was injured in the blaze.
