Bo Diddley Rocks Keys For Katrina Relief

ISLAMORADA (CBS4) ― Islamorada has very little in common with the Gulf Coast of Mississippi, with one very important exception: they both suffer the effects of hurricanes. So it's somewhat ironic that a concert Islamorada planned to help Gulf Coast victims of Hurricane Katrina was itself delayed, by Hurricane Wilma. That ended Sunday, when Bo Diddley and Friends turned music into money for Katrina victims.

The concert was held in Islamorada, which has adopted Ocean Springs, Mississippi as it's sister city. The blues legend and his rectangular, cigar box guitar joined saxophonist Clarence Clemons of the E- Street Band, former Sly and the Family Stone lead singer E- Jaye Brown and local bands for a concert yesterday to benefit Hurricane Katrina victims in Mississippi.

Some of Diddley's own family members had to be evacuated from the Gulf Coast because of Katrina. The musician says he hoped the concert would raise some money to help other people devastated by the hurricane.

Yesterday's concert was originally scheduled for October 23rd, but was postponed because of Hurricane Wilma.
