I-95 Weekend Closures To Cause Delays

MIAMI (CBS4) ― Try to avoid I-95 and SR 112 this weekend if you'll be driving late at night or early in the morning.

Florida Department of Transportation officials are cautioning anyone traveling on I-95 in Miami-Dade County this weekend to plan ahead because of road closures due to construction.

Closures will begin on State Road 112 -- the major artery between Miami Beach and the Miami International Airport -- at 10:00 p.m. Friday night and on I-95 at 11:00 p.m. Both will remain closed until Saturday morning. The freeways will again close Saturday night into Sunday morning.

During this time, workers will be preparing the roadway for the new I-95 southbound express lanes.
