Police: UF Player Used Dead Girl's Credit Card

It was used 33 times in Alachua County and another 37 times in Jacksonville.

The total raked up was $3,000.

GAINESVILLE (CBS4) ―

A University of Florida football player is accused of using the gas card of a woman killed along with another player in a motorcycle accident

Police say 21-year-old junior safety Jamar Hornsby started using the card the day after the fatal crash. It was used 33 times in Alachua County and another 37 times in Jacksonville. The total raked up was $3,000.

The Alachua County sheriff's office is investigating and will forward their findings to state prosecutors.

Hornsby learned Thursday that a judge had issued a warrant for his arrest, so he surrendered Friday morning on charges of credit card theft and fraudulent use of a credit card.

He was released from jail several hours later on his own recognizance.

It's not clear how Hornsby got the card.
