"Dapper Dan Shooter" Turns Himself Into Police

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBS4) ― An accused Miami Gardens shooter who police had nicknamed Dapper Dan because he wore a business suit when he allegedly knocked on a Dania Beach man's door and shot him turned himself in to authorities on Monday morning, according to Broward Sheriff's Office.

John Roger Jenkins also carried a briefcase when he knocked on Tobias Barfield's Dania Beach home on the morning of Oct. 5th. When Barfield opened the door, the two men got into an argument. Shortly afterwards, Jenkins, 31, pulled out a gun and shot Barfield once.

Barfield was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood and is expected to recover from his injuries.

Last week, BSO obtained a warrant for his arrest on charges of attempted murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Detectives say Jenkins targeted Barfield, but the reason for the dispute remains unclear.
