Jon Voight Campaigns For Giuliani On CBS4

DORAL (CBS4) ― Academy Award winning actor Jon Voight fought evil Decepticons in the hit movie, "Transformers", now he's fighting to get GOP presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani into the White House.

Voight, who appeared on CBS4 News on MY 33 Friday morning, is in South Florida to promote Giuliani's bid for the White House.

In addition to his early morning appearance on CBS4 News, Voight will greet voters at an early voting location at the Miami-Dade County Elections Department Voter Information Center at the Stephen P. Clark Center, located at 111 NW 1st Street in downtown Miami.

Voight will then have lunch with supporters at a JJ's American Diner, located at 2320 Galiano Street in Coral Gables, then he'll attend a phone bank at Giuliani's Miami-Dade campaign headquarters.

Voight says "America is approaching one of its most important elections in history and we must elect a leader with the strength and resolve of Rudy Giuliani. His commitment to keeping our military strong and his track record of transforming New York makes him the right man at the right time for our country."

Voight won an Oscar for his role as a Vietnam veteran in the 1978 film "Coming Home." He has also starred in the "National Treasure" movies, "Transformers" and "Mission: Impossible."

Giuliani said he was honored to have Voight's support. "Our shared vision of maintaining America's strength and providing the focus for the challenges we face is one that is shared by countless others who are supporting our campaign," the former New York mayor said.
