Former Priest Arrested On Child Porn Charges

Kenneth Hasselbach Faces 10 Years In Prison If Convicted

HOLLYWOOD (CBS4) ― A former Catholic priest faces up to ten years in prison if he's convicted on charges of possession of child pornography.

Kenneth Hasselbach, 68, was arrested Friday after the FBI learned that he had downloaded several pornographic images of young boys during their ongoing investigation into Internet child pornography.

During questioning, CBS4 news partners The Miami Herald report Hasselbach not only admitted to downloading the images from an email but also to having child porn on his two computers.  He also reportedly admitted to having engaged in online chats with 14 and 15-year-old boys about their sexual experiences.

A search of Hasselbach's computers allegedly revealed several images of boys under the 18 posing nude and engaged in sexual positions.

In 1994, Hasselbach was accused of molesting a 12-year old boy when he was a priest at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Patchogue, New York. He moved to South Florida after he was removed from his position by the Catholic diocese.
