Saks Launches 'Key To The Cure' Campaign

Oct. 15 - 19, At All Saks And Off 5th Locations

Saks Will Donate 2% Of All Profits To Key To The Cure

BAL HARBOUR (CBS4) ― If you love to shop and help others at the same time, then head to Saks Fifth Avenue this weekend. To help raise both money and awareness for women's cancers, the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center has teamed up with Saks Fifth Avenue Bal Harbour and Ocean Drive Magazine for "Key to the Cure."

It's a national charity shopping weekend to benefit women's cancer research, October 15 through October 19, 2008. This year's kick-off party is being held at Saks Fifth Avenue Bal Harbour on Wednesday, October 15 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Entry donation is $40.00 and a percentage of sales from the shopping weekend will go directly to Sylvester.

Wednesday's exclusive kick-off event will offer three floors of shopping, live entertainment, refreshments and tastings by nearly 30 of Miami's best restaurants and caterers.

Nationwide, all Saks Fifth Avenue stores, plus Off 5th stores and Saks.com will donate 2 percent of all profits to Key to the Cure, up to $1 million to local and national women's cancer charities.

In the ten years since the inception of the Saks Fifth Avenue charity shopping event, the company has raised more than $28 million for women's cancer research and treatment organizations across the country.

Saks also offers a limited-edition Key to the Cure T-shirt designed by Karl Lagerfeld. It retails for $40. Over $35 from the sale of every T-shirt benefits the Entertainment Industry Foundation's (EIF) Women's Cancer Research Fund.

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow is the 2008 ambassador for the Women's Cancer Research Fund and "Key to the Cure."
