MIA-Bound Passengers Hurt Due To Turbulence

227 Passengers & Crew Were On American Airlines Flight 908

It Arrived From Buenos Aires Before 7:00 a.m.

MIAMI (CBS4) ― Half a dozen passengers and crew on a board a flight from Argentina were treated by paramedics at Miami International Airport Friday morning after suffering bumps and bruises due to turbulence.

American Airlines spokesman Tim Smith says Flight 908 was making a descent into the airport before 7:00 a.m. when it hit severe turbulence at 30,000 feet. The "fasten seat belt" light was on.

Six people, two flight attendants and four passengers, were taken to the hospital with back and neck injuries.

The Boeing 777 carrying 246 passengers and 14 crew members from Buenos Aires landed safely.
