MIA Opens New Military Hospitality Lounge
MIAMI (CBS4) ―
Service men and women who are flying home for the holidays through Miami International Airport will have a special place to greet their loved ones.
The airport has opened a new expanded Military Hospitality Lounge just in time for the holiday travel season. It's located at Concourse E.
The new Hospitality Lounge is double the size of the previous center and is stocked with beds, computers, TV's, refrigerators, seats and tables.
The lounge is open 24 hours a day to military guests and dependents with official military identification.
Like most hospitality centers operated by the U.S.O. or other independent organizations, the Hospitality Lounge offers military travelers and their families a safe, quiet and convenient haven during their brief, or extended, stays at MIA while on personal or military required travel.
Whether these travelers are shipping out to a war zone, traveling to a new duty station, or on emergency or personal leave, the hospitality extended to them ranges from a safe place to leave their personal possessions; freshen up after a long flight; change baby diapers, relax, read, watch TV or movies; enjoy snacks, beverages or light meals, all at no charge.
