The death of Michael Jackson brought about comments and tributes from radio listeners throughout South Florida.
"I can honestly say that something is missing out of my life," said Disc Jockey, Prince Markie Dee, who works on 103.5 The Beat. The station began playing Michael Jackson songs the minute his death was confirmed Thursday Night. South Florida radio stations paid tribute to the man and his music.
"Amazing songs that touch our souls and touched our hearts touched our minds," said Dee.
And although the images of Jackson will last forever, it is the soundtrack of so many lives that will continue to resonate.
"I have been a fan since I was a little girl, and I still loved him through his hardships," said one caller into the radio station.
At 99 Jamz DJ K. Foxx received call after call from listeners in mourning.
"I remember being a little girl dancing around to Michael Jackson seeing his videos," said K Foxx.
Callers even shared ideas as to how to pay tribute to the king of pop.
"He deserves to be on the dollar. They need to take George Washington off and put Michael Jackson on it," said one caller.
Listeners also remembered the live performances, even ones in South Florida.
"It was awesome. I cried. I screamed. It was at the baseball stadium at 10th avenue that is not even there no more," said another caller.
And although Michael Jackson is no longer with us, his music lives on.
