Crane Operator Nearly Electrocuted

NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE (CBS4) ― A crane operator was hospitalized in serious condition Monday afternoon after the crane he was operating came into contact with live power lines.

The accident took place at Northwest 22nd Avenue and 74th Street in Northwest Miami-Dade shortly before 1:30 p.m.

The unidentified man was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital in serious condition.

Residents and businesses in a two mile radius around the near electrocution lost power after the accident.

Florida Power and Light crews worked Monday afternoon to restore the power to the neighborhood.
