SWAT Team Called Out To NE Dade Neighborhood

NORTHEAST MIAMI-DADE (CBS4) ― SWAT team and fire rescue closed off a Northeast Miami-Dade neighborhood late Thursday night as they searched for a robbery suspect.

Miami-Dade Police responded to the area of Ives Dairy Road and San Simeon Way regarding a report of a robbery with a suspect or suspects on the lose. They have been searching for the suspect by helicopter and ground. Somehow the situation has escalated and the help of a special response team was requested.

Police were seen on the streets with guns drawn and residents have been kept away from entering their neighborhood.

Those that are inside their homes are not being allowed outside.

Officials have not reported any injuries so far but have not said where exactly the robbery occurred.
