Fans From All Walks Of Life Attend Taylor Funeral

MIAMI (CBS4) ― From O.J. Simpson to a group of adoring fans, people from all walks of life showed up to pay their respects to fallen NFL Star Sean Taylor on Monday.

A small, but passionate, group of Washington Redskins fans traveled to attend Sean Taylor's funeral at FIU's Pharmed Arena, where thousands were in attendance. Football players, coaches and even Andy Garcia attended the funeral. Garcia's niece Jacqueline was Taylor's girlfriend, and the couple had a daughter together.

Washington Redskins mascot Zema "Chief Zee" Williams traveled to Miami for the funeral. He's been attending Redskins games for 30 years and says Taylor was one of his favorite players.

"He's my brother, my family, you know he's a part of me," said Williams. "It's just terrible. You're gonna take somebody's life at 24 year-old, and he hadn't even started living yet."

One woman who can sympathize with what Taylor's family is going through is Edith Morgan. Her son was Derrick Thomas of the Kansas City Chiefs, and he too died tragically.

"It was very devastating for me, like Monday I was on my way to the hospital to visit Sean when I got the news," said Morgan. "It's very, very important for me to be here today because I know what the family's going through."

O.J. Simpson attended the funeral as well.

"Well he went to school with my kids, and he came to my house quite often," said O.J. Simpson.

Taylor's was buried at Woodlawn Cemetery, but the ceremony was closed to the media.
