O.J: I'm Not To Blame For Christie's Injuries

MIAMI (CBS4) ― O.J. Simpson and his attorney have slammed a national tabloid which implied that he was under investigation for allegedly beating his long time girlfriend Christie Prody.

Miami Dade Police said the 32-year old Prody was taken to Baptist Hospital's Emergency Room on Monday with a severe head injury after she slipped and fell at a gas station at Southwest 99th Avenue and Southwest 88th Street.

During an interview with police on Tuesday, Simpson told investigators he and Prody had recently returned from a trip to San Antonio, where they attended a Super Bowl party. Simpson said he flew back to Miami on February 4th, but Prody didn't return to South Florida until the following Sunday. Simpson allegedly told detectives the couple didn't return to Miami together because Prody was intoxicated and didn't make proper arrangements to bring a dog on the flight.

CBS4 news partners at the Miami Herald report Yale Galanter, Simpson's longtime attorney, disputes a report in the National Enquirer that O.J. was under investigation. He said the police were quickly able to determine that Simpson had nothing to do with Prody's injuries.

''It's crap,'' Galanter to the Miami Herald. ``The people at the National Enquirer should be ashamed of themselves. Here a woman is badly injured, and they're trying to make money from it.''
