Suspect Hospitalized In Police-Involved Shooting

SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE (CBS4) ― A burglary suspect was injured Thursday morning in Southwest Miami-Dade following an apparent robbery and chase which ended with a police-involved shooting, according to Miami-Dade Police.

Police say two men broke into a home on Southwest 124th Avenue and 104th Street. Police chased the suspects through the neighborhood. The suspects' car was stopped at SW 118th Avenue and Miller Drive and that's when at least one shot was fired.

Detective Bobby Williams, a Miami-Dade police spokesman confirmed there was a police-involved shooting.

One suspect was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center. His condition was not known.

The second suspect was taken into police custody.
