A surveillance camera captured a purse snatcher in action on June 21, 2009.

Miami-Dade police have released surveillance video of a man wanted to robbing a woman of her purse which contained a large amount of jewelry and cash.
According to Miami-Dade police Det. Alvaro Zabaleta, a woman and her husband were exchanging their vehicle at a car rental establishment at 2301 N.W. 23 Avenue on Sunday, June 21st.
Investigators say while the husband went inside, the woman waited outside. During that time, a man walked up to the woman and he grabbed her purse.
She struggled with him but he got away with the bag and ran toward a light green Pontiac with dark tinted windows. The vehicle has a partial tag of 511, said police.
Police say the purse contained approximately $15,000 worth of jewelry and cash.
Surveillance video shows the man walking towards the woman and then running away. It also shows the woman running after him and then screaming.
The suspect is about 240 pounds, 5'-10", heavy build, groomed beard, and he had front upper gold teeth. He was wearing black shorts, a white t-shirt, black with white trim Converse shoes and a black hat.
