McCain V. Obama: Who Is More Tech Savvy
CBS4's Jim DeFede Compares The Tech Savviness Of The Presidential Candidates
MIAMI (CBS4) ―
The economy and gas prices are big issues in the upcoming presidential election but there is a new issue for those involved in the online community. It's the candidates tech savviness.
While on the new
Jim and Jade Show Thursday morning, CBS4's
Jim DeFede took a closer look at just how savvy Senator John McCain and Senator Barack Obama really are. And it shouldn't come as a big surprise that Obama is a bit savvier than McCain.
McCain has even admitted that he's an internet "illiterate that has to rely on his wife for all the assistance he can get."
DeFede notes that it goes to a deeper issue. The internet has revolutionized and transformed the world and if you've got a president that isn't familiar with what the internet is really about, that could be a problem. From a business standpoint, the idea of having someone that's not tech savvy can be a bit troublesome.
Barack Obama, on the other hand, has used the internet in his campaign. He's got 1.7 million donors and the majority of them are from the internet, which has completely revolutionized his campaign.
DeFede also compared the candidate's Facebook pages and the number of their Facebook Friends and there's a huge difference. Barack Obama has more than a million friends on Facebook, while McCain has under 200-thousand.
Also along the lines of the tech savviness of these two candidates, Barack Obama has an extensive playlist on his iPod and we're not even sure if John McCain knows what an iPod is.
