Lisa Knight and Carla Merhige were twin sisters killed in a Thanksgiving massacre.

A mass murder on Thanksgiving night led to hundreds of people crying, praying, and remembering twin sisters Carla Merhige and Lisa Knight. Their own brother, Paul Michael Merhige is accused of taking their lives.
The vigil at the twins' church, Our Lady-Lebanon Catholic Church in Miami, shed some light on who they were and the lives they touched. According to the reader at the church, Lisa was overjoyed when she recently learned that she was pregnant.
"I thank God that she had a few weeks of this knowledge and that she was able to hear the heartbeat."
Lisa's fellow realtors and other coworkers, like Gemma Romaguera, came to say goodbye.
"She was very sweet, she was very special she was very warm, she always had a smile on her face and that says a lot," said Romaguera.
And then there's Carla. She had recently struggled with the death of a good friend. Carla used her beautiful voice in the child welfare work she did, and at church.
"She was always smiling and open and easy to talk to and easy to work with. She was just very loving," said Carla's co-worker, Cooky Silverman.
Carla's voice reverberated throughout the vigil and the tear-filled candlelight procession outside the church walls. The songs accomplish what fading memories struggle to do. Her voice brought her back, if only for a moment.
