CORAL GABLES (CBS4) ― After years of studying, pulling all-nighters and preparing for one exam or another, thousands of University of Miami students are about to step out into the real world.

More than 3,300 students will graduate from the University of Miami during commencement ceremonies being held May 8 – 10th and on May 18th at the BankUnited Center, 1245 Dauer Drive, on UM's Coral Gables campus.

The first graduation took place Thursday afternoon. There are three more commencement ceremonies on Friday. They take place at 8:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 5:00 p.m.

The keynote speaker on Friday morning is acclaimed economic strategist Robert Rubin, who will also receive the Honorary Doctor of Laws. He grew up on Miami Beach and graduated from Miami Beach High in 1960.

The keynote speaker for the 12:30 p.m. ceremony is Xavier University President Norman C. Francis who will receive the Honorary Doctor of Laws.

At 5:00 p.m., the keynote speaker is Tony and Golden Globe award winning actress Angela Lansbury. She'll receive the Doctor of Humane Letters at the commencement ceremony for students from the College of Arts and Sciences.

There's another commencement on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. and the final ceremony takes place Sunday May 18th at 2:00 p.m. for Law School graduates.

All of these commencement ceremonies means commuters should expect delays in the City of Coral Gables surrounding the UM campus, the BankUnited Center, U.S.1 and Ponce de Leon Boulevard between Granada and Red Road.

For parents and friends of the graduates who cannot attend the Coral Gables ceremonies, they will be streamed live on the web.
