Man Found Shot Outside West Dade McDonald's
WEST MIAMI-DADE (CBS4) ―
A father's baby girl was in the backseat of his car as he was chased and shot at through his window, a tragedy that ended with the father crashing his car in the parking lot of a West Miami-Dade McDonald's Restaurant Tuesday evening.
Miami-Dade Police say whoever did this is still out there on the loose. The girl was strapped to a child car seat in the back when bullets came flying into the car, hitting her father in the chest as he drove westbound on Flagler Street. Police don't know who was shooting at the man or why. They are investigating all possibilities, including a possible case of road rage.
At the crime scene, police comforted the little girl, who was not hurt, while gathering clues at the McDonald's by SW 79th Avenue. His car came to a crashing stop against some hedges and a sign at the restaurant.
"At some point we believe he got out of the vehicle and tried to stop some vehicles for help," said Detective Roy Rutland, with Miami-Dade Police.
Fire rescue transported the man to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he was stable. The mother came to pick up the girl on the scene.
