Animal Cruelty: "One Of The Worst I've Ever Seen"
Most Animals Will Have To Be Euthanized
NORTH MIAMI (CBS4) ―
Beverly Ann Prady, 55, was in bond court on Tuesday, charged with felony animal cruelty after North Miami Police seized 58 dogs and 20 cats after receiving a tip that more than 20 animals were living inside a home in what some officials called the worst case of animal abuse they've seen.
Bail was set at $2500.
"I feel angry and sad," said North Miami Chief Animal Control Officer Tami Fox. "This is just outright animal neglect," which she told CBS4 Reporter Marybel Rodriguez at the home located at 990 NE 139th St.
North Miami Mayor Kevin Burns said he was horrified by what he saw. "The floor of the house is completely rotted away," said Mayor Burns. "There are animals in cages, there are animals that are dying; they can't move their hind legs."
When asked by CBS4's Reporter Peter D'Oench why she had so many animals living there, Prady attributed it to some of the animals not being neutered or spayed.
The home was condemned.
