Hooking up a spare antenna and cables on the international space station will be job one for Atlantis astronauts Michael Foreman and Dr. Robert Satcher Jr. on the first spacewalk of this mission.
This will be the first spacewalk for Satcher who became the first orthopedic surgeon in space when Atlantis launched earlier this week. NASA says three spacewalks in total are planned during this mission.
During their first day on the station the astronauts unloaded several tons of pumps, tanks and other big spare parts. All this gear should keep the space station operating well past next year's shuttle retirement.
